A mysterious knocking sound at highway speed turned into a miracle story that still leaves listeners speechless. This is a modern day miracle of protection that Ernie Hufnagl believes could only be explained by God's hand on the wheel — literally.

Driving from Foster to Newcastle, Ernie's car developed a strange knocking noise that grew worse by the mile. A mechanic couldn't diagnose it, so Ernie prayed and kept driving, determined to make it home. When he finally arrived and inspected his tires, he discovered four of the five nuts on his rear wheel were completely missing — he'd been driving at 110km/h on a single wheel nut. Convinced this was no coincidence, Ernie shares how this experience, alongside a string of other close calls since giving his life to Christ, deepened his conviction that God actively protects those who trust Him, even when they don't realize danger is just one turn away.

It is often said there are no miracles performed these days. Well, I'd like to challenge that idea with my story of the missing wheel nuts. Welcome to miracles of the 21st century. I'm Ernie Hufnagl and I'm going to share with you another miracle. Just one of the dozens that have happened to me since I gave my life to Christ. Where Satan has tried to interfere, but Christ has always came out on top or always come out on top. So what happened was I was driving the car, I had to go to Newcastle from Foster. So the car started to make a funny noise, started to make a knocking noise. And it wasn't too bad at first. And it sounded like it was coming from under the. Underneath the car, near the gearbox, somewhere near the drive shaft. And it was knock, knock, knock, knock. I don't know how to be able to that I make that noise, but it was tapping, knock, knock, knock, knock. And it's gradually got worse. And by the time I got to Newcastle and my brother's place, he's sort of a. Sort of a mechanic, he's a backyard mechanic. I asked him to have a look at it and he had a look at it and took it for a drive. And he said, I can't work that out. That's weird, the funny noise, but I can't work out where it's coming from. So we let it slide and put up with it, stayed there for the day and did what we had to do. Then I drove home and the knocking got worse and it got so bad it was almost unbearable. And I thought, there's not much I can do. I'm in the middle of nowhere. I'm going to have to keep driving because I can't do anything here. So I'll just put up with it and hopefully it'll get us home. So I prayed that it would get us home. And it did. It got us home. Now when I got home, I thought, I've got to have a look at this, there's something wrong. Maybe it was the hubcap making a noise, rattling loose. So I had a look at all the tires and I went around, I got to the back tire on the, on the driver's side and there was no hubcap on there. And I had a look at the nuts, the wheel nuts, and I put a spanner on them and there's five wheel nuts on there. Four of them weren't there, they were off. There was only one wheel nut holding the wheel on. Now if that wheel had have come off on the highway where I was doing 110km an hour, we'd all be dead. I probably would have swerved into oncoming traffic and would have killed everyone in the car. But it didn't. I managed to get that car home with God's help, of course, with one nut holding the wheel on. Now, if that's not a miracle, then I don't know what is. Most people would say, oh, gee, you're lucky. No, not lucky. That's just one of the miracles that I've spoken about, and that's just another one. And then all I did was put some nuts back on it, tighten it back up, and everything was fine. But what it did, it made me realize that God's involved in my life. He's looking after me. With that miracle and all the other miracles that have happened to me, he's looking after me. And he'll look after you too, if you let him. So if you turn your life, give your life to Christ, then he will look after you too. But it won't happen straight away. It'll take some time and you'll be put to the test. Not everything is going to go fine for you, but try it. Give your life to Christ. But what alternative do you have? You have a miserable life, 70 years and death. Or you have an ordinary life, 70 years, if you live that long, and life everlasting through Christ Jesus. So choose one. Choose one or the other. Choose death or choose life. Me and my house, we choose life. But that's just another miracle. I hope that helps you in your spirit, spiritual journey, if you have one. And may God bless you all and keep you all safe.
