Two fallen trees missed disaster by inches, and then a man picked up live power lines with his bare hands and walked away completely unharmed. This miracle story is a jaw-dropping testimony of divine protection that defies rational explanation.

After heavy storms softened the ground, Ernie watched two massive trees fall directly toward his neighbours' fence and his own garage — both landing in the one spot that caused almost no damage at all. Then a power pole collapsed, dragging live lines to the ground. Without realizing the danger, Ernie lifted them over his head with his bare hands so a car could pass underneath, only learning afterward from an electrician that the lines were fully live and should have killed him.

It's all too often said that there are no miracles performed these days. Well, I'd like to challenge that idea with my story of the guardian angel. Welcome to Miracles in the 21st Century. I'm Ernie Hufnagl, and I'm about to share a miracle with you, or several miracles in one story that happened to me. Because you may not realize it, but we all have a guardian angel, and he will look after us if we do what's right and walk on the right path. Continue to do what's right and he will look after you. Now, what happened was we had some really bad weather at my place. A lot of people will call this coincidence or luck. No, no such thing. Where God's involved, it's not luck. It's God's guiding hand. Anyway, first of all, I have 120-130-foot trees around my place. We had a lot of rain and the ground got very soft and one tree fell over. That's the first tree and it fell over towards the next-door neighbor's house. Now when it fell, it got caught on the next-door neighbor's tree. So it didn't actually fall all the way to the ground and it just stopped short of the next-door neighbor's fence, which was a very expensive fence, I might add. And had the tree wrecked it, I would have had to fix it. So what I did was, while the tree was hanging precariously off the next-door neighbor's tree— and this tree probably weighed about 10 tonnes, so it was a big tree— so I took the fence down and then I said, this tree has to come down because if it falls down while the kids are in there, it's going to kill somebody. It's got to come down. But now this is Friday afternoon, getting into Friday night, and I didn't know what to do. So I rang my brother, who's a tree lopper, but he couldn't get there till Monday. And I said, no, I've got to do something. I'm going to have to sort this out. I'm going to have to go to Bunnings and get some rope and tie it up tomorrow and try and pull it off and so on and so on. But it has to come down. But it was now nighttime, so I went to bed and there was nothing I could do. So I prayed about it. That's all I could do was pray. And you wouldn't believe it. What a coincidence. Haha. I got up in the morning and the tree was laying on the ground. What a coincidence, people would say. Well, what happened then? I chopped the tree up and I had enough firewood to last me for a year. Then I put the fence back up and you wouldn't even know that anything had fallen down. Now again, because the ground was soft, another tree fell down, the one that was right next to this one, but it fell in a different direction. It fell towards the garage. Now either one of these trees, if it had fallen in any other direction except where they fell, any direction, they would have caused hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage because they would have fallen on the house. On the two houses. Now this other tree fell down and it fell between the garage and the fence and it didn't do any damage neither. It only just scratched the garage a little bit. So what happened now was I chopped the tree up and then I had enough firewood for another year and you wouldn't even know anything had fallen down. That's another one. Then because we've had so much rain and so much soggy ground, the power pole out the front being pretty old, it fell over. And when it fell over, it dragged all the power lines down with it. Now all the power lines are laying on the ground, and me being the dummy that I am, not realizing what I was doing, I walked straight over to it because we had to get the car out. And I picked the power lines up and I held them over my head so that the car could drive underneath it. But then realizing what I did, I thought, uh-oh, you're an idiot. These power lines could be live, but it's a bit late now, I've already picked it up. So I dropped the power lines on the ground and I rang up the emergency electrical, whatever they're called, and the emergency people were on their way out and they said to me, whatever you do, don't touch the power lines. Well, I didn't tell them that, but it was a bit late, I've already touched them. And then when the guy came out to look at it, They told me we're supposed to stay 20 meters away from them because it was raining and the ground was wet. Then he tested the power lines with his little— not his little tester, a big long tester that he had. And he said, these power lines are live, so stay away from them. So there you go. There's another miracle that people can't explain. Why didn't I get electrocuted? Anyone else would have got electrocuted. The power lines were live, but nothing happened to me. Now people would say, "Oh, you're lucky. That's just luck." No, it's not just luck. That's God's guiding hand being involved in my life. Since I gave my life to Christ, that's just another one of the miracles where God has looked after me and saved me from myself. And He can continue doing that for me and for you if you let Him. But you have to let Him. You have to involve Him in your life. And then He'll do all these— He's probably already performed miracles for you, but you just don't realize it. So people, give your life to Christ and he'll look after you too, same as he's looked after me. So I hope that helps you on your journey, and may God bless you all.
