God Said 'Go Outside' — She Finally Listened - MTC2552

SPEAKER A It is all too often said that there are no miracles performed these days. Well, I'd like to challenge this idea with my story, but it's not outside. Welcome to Miracles in the 21st Century. I'm Rosemary Malkiewycz, and this is my story. When my boys were little, my sister was moving house and I was going to go and help her. She lived about an hour away. And of course, I had my two little boys and had to take them with me. But my oldest boy had made this beautiful work of art out of Duplo Lego blocks. It was so well done and, and everything matched. It was very symmetrical. The colors were in the right places to make a beautiful piece of art. I thought I'd take it to her so she could see how smart her nephew was. So I went to find it before I left. I couldn't find it anywhere. I looked all over the house. I could not find it. I'm saying, where is this thing you made? And he didn't know where it was. He was about 4 years old. He didn't know where it was. And so I prayed because I always prayed when I lost things. So I started to pray, Lord, you can see it right now. You know where it is. Please show me where to find it. And all I could hear was, "Go outside." But it's not outside. It's never been taken outside. It's an inside toy and it's inside somewhere. I'm not going outside. That can't be you. And so I'd search again. Where is it? Where did you put it? Where could it be? And I couldn't find it. Looking under beds, looking in cupboards, looking everywhere. And I couldn't find it. Go outside. Well, I'm not going outside because it's not been taken outside. It's not outside. Go outside. It's not outside. I'm not going to look for it out there because it's not there. I searched, I searched, and I searched. And finally, I was going to be late. So I just had to get my boys into the car and I had to leave. Well, you know, I spent that day helping my sister and my dad move my sister to another house in Perth. But I was angry with God. He hadn't shown me where that piece of artwork was made out of Duplo blocks. And it was so colourful and so nicely done. Very smart for my little boy at his age. And I was angry with God because he did not tell me where it was. I couldn't take it to show my sister, and I was not happy. I went home after that at the end of the day, and I pulled into my driveway. Now you've got to remember, or know, that my driveway was at the back of my house because I lived on a corner, and the driveway came in the back with a big shed where I could park my car. Well, it was late in the day and I was still not happy with God, and I pulled into my driveway. I got out of my car and my boys were getting out too, and as I looked up to the house where we had like a bit of a pool fence behind the house and between the house and the garage, and there in the window On the windowsill behind the curtain in his room was this beautiful work of art. I felt terrible. If I had have gone outside and looked around the house, I would have seen it in the window just as easily as I was seeing it now. But I refused to go outside because I knew better than God. Well, how did I feel being angry with God all day because he didn't show me where it was? The problem was I didn't listen and I knew better. God was telling me to go outside because I couldn't see it from inside. It was behind the curtain. But if I had have gone outside, I would have found it. God is so good. God knows where the things are that we lose, and, and he wants to help us to find them. But we've got to let go of ourselves and what we think is best and what we think we know, and let God be the one to direct us so that we can find the things we've lost. I want to encourage you that anytime you lose something, go to God. He can see it. He knows exactly where it is, and he can help you find it, but you've got to listen. So when you ask God to help you find something, be still and let God impress your mind of where to look for it. And sometimes you will be taken to somewhere that you had not even imagined. Other times you'll find it right under your nose. So that is my thought for you. Ask God and let him tell you where your lost things are, just like I had to learn.
