SPEAKER 1
Hi, everybody. All too often people say there are no miracles performed these days. Well, I'd like to challenge that idea with my story of a miraculous baby healing. So this is miracles in the 21st century. I'm Mike Browning, and this is our story. What had happened was this. Our daughter Carla had a little baby, called him Ethan. And from the moment that he was born, folks, this child had serious health problems. He had severe projectile vomiting, wet lung and other issues. He had a lot of problems, this boy. And here he was, just a little babe in arms. And every time he was fed, he would vomit it up. Our daughter was amazing. Kept on feeding him. He had vomited up. And she fed him some more so that he was getting some nourishment at least. And the baby just screamed day and night because the baby was in pain. And of course, it was hungry too, I suppose, in between those attempts to feed it. And so this went on for 10 months. I don't know how Carla was able to keep going with this, but she did and kept him going. Now, she was living in Sydney there with her family at that time. And we were down in Ararat in Victoria. And so this is what happened. Carla decided, we all decided that she would come and visit us down there in Victoria and bring the baby and that we would help her with caring for the baby because she was just worn out after 10 months of a screaming child day and night and trying to keep it fed, of course, and some nourishment in it. So she arrived, and she arrived with a little baby, Ethan, 10 months old now. And a testament to how well she'd been trying to look after him because he didn't look too bad. But soon as he was able to take anything, he vomited it right away and it was terrible. So we decided to split the day up. I did 6pm till midnight. My wife did midnight to 6, and daughter did the daytime shift. And so we did this for a whole week, folks. And at the end of the week, we were just unable to keep going. And we said to Carl, we just can't do this anymore. This is too much. We don't know how you've done this on your own for 10 months anyhow. So we said, there's only one thing to do. We've got to pray. God knows what's going on here. So we resorted to what is described here and James, chapter 5, and in verse 14 and 15, and this is a powerful promise here. This is what it says. Is anyone among you sick? Well, we qualified with Ethan. Let him call for the elders of the church, let them pray over him. Anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick. And the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Which means it's a spiritual healing as well as a physical. Although that last pet didn't apply to this little baby. This little baby was just into survival mode, that was for sure. So we decided we'd have to anoint him. We'd have to go to God and ask for a miracle. We were desperate, so we called in the elders of the church there in Ararat, and they came and joined us one Sabbath afternoon. And we all knelt around this little baby boy, explained the story to everybody. So everybody knew what was going on and how desperate we all were. And then we prayed for this little boy and asked God to heal him of this terrible projectile vomiting and the wet lung. And we just asked God to heal this child. And then we anointed him with the oil. And if you've. I don't know if you're familiar with this particular service, but the oil represents the Holy Spirit, who is the one who does the healing. He's the healing agent. And so we prayed. We anointed him. All the elders prayed. And we, as a family, we all prayed. And then we anointed him with the oil. Well, everybody, after a little while, after that, the service finished a little service, and everybody went home, and we were left with the baby. Well, time came, put the baby to bed. And from that point on, folks, he never screamed, he never cried, and he never vomited. He was a completely whole baby. And you can imagine we were just so relieved. We were just so wrung out. And to have God touch this little child. And, you know, God does things in a very quiet way. There was no drama, just God quietly touched him. The only reason we knew that God had touched him was because he never vomited again. He never screamed again. He was completely made well and whole. And we just praise God for that. God is interested in us, in our desperation, and wants to help us. I know that from that wonderful experience. And I'd like to encourage you folks, never hesitate when you're in need to go to God in prayer. And if there's a serious sickness in the family, and God never promises to heal every single person. But, folks, if you commit your problem and your need to God, you know it's in his hands. And if it's the very best thing, and it's his will, then he will indeed heal his children. The thing to do is to surrender to God's will, which is what we did with Ethan. And we just praise God that he still will today.
